Chipchhipe is a remote village located in Devghat Rural Municipality, Ward no 3, Tanahun, Nepal. There was an acute shortage of drinking water, and the villagers are dependent on rainwater for agricultural-related farming.
To resolve this issue, the Rotary Club of Narayangarh in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Shimodate of Japan D2860 and in partnership with the Water Center 21 PAHAL completed Chipchhipe solar lifting drinking water and irrigation project and handed it over to the community on 26th March 2022. The project is implemented under the Rotary Global Grant Project GG2126953. The total cost of the project is USD 46,818. Families of 60 households directly benefited from this project. Now, these families have access to clean & safe drinking water. Though it is small but will help to achieve SDG 2030 in Nepal. Also due to the availability of irrigation facilities (sprinkler irrigation), villagers will be able to uplift their livelihood by cultivating orange and vegetable farming
